Data is directly collected from Speedrun.com API - Version 1 Once the code is optimized there will be weekly automation implementation. For now this website will fetch and update the runs manually.

# Runner PTS

How does it work ?

About the system - This system is designed to emulate HaloRuns Community points system. In our case we call it DMC PTS This system uses the same formula they use to distribute points to each DMC players, add them together, and determine who the most well-rounded player is across the entire speedrunning community. The purpose is to funnel people into running the game more and branch out to compete into different DMC games.

PTS Determination - PTS varies per category and World record runs will receive max PTS. Then the subsequent runners will get points based on the ratio of time between their time and the record's time, in seconds. For example, if the world record is 10 minutes and your run is 15 minutes, the ratio would be 600/900 After getting the ratio (x), the following formula is used: P = 0.008 * e4.8284x

As an example, here is how many points a player would receive if the world record was 1:20:00

In general categories are scored separately depending on the game but some general rules are

Rules

  • Avaliable Categories - NG Dante - NG Lucia
  • NG+ Categories - difficulties are variables, not sub-categories, runners are able to have up to three different runs on this board one each for Normal, Hard, and Dante Must Die. Only the best time will present will actual placement.
  • Trish - Her category PTS is divided by the sub-category route. This because her run barely changes.
  • Free Style gains 400 PTS instead of 1,000 PTS the penalty of NG+ still applies
  • Avaliable Categories - NG Dante - NG Vergil - Dante's Awakening
  • Main Difficulties - Normal - MUST DIE
  • Filler Diffculty - HoH
  • Trish - Her category PTS is divided by the sub-category route. This because her run barely changes.
  • Peak of Darkness - Category Extensions Normal = 300 PTS | MUST DIE = 500 PTS
  • CAKE - Category Extensions Both difficulties receives 800 PTS

  • The rest of diffculties are filtered out and considered as miscellaneous
  • Avaliable Categories - Both versions organised the same amount of points. There is only New Game+ and New Game
  • NG Difficulties - Human receives the max PTS while Nephilim is subtracted by 200
  • NG+ Difficulties - MUST DIE receives 400 PTS extra. Human and HoH are filler PTS
  • NG+ NMG in Definitive Edition is only avaliable at Human as many would prefer run Any% instead. This is the same reason why NG+ Any% isn't avaliable for Vanilla Vergil Downfall
