The Devil Returns

NG Nero / Dante Mission 13

Target LRT - sub 2:25

A very tough mission that can easily lose you a lot of time. The Assaults are tough to deal with just the rebellion, and they run around everywhere, making it hard to set up any cycle.

In Mission 13, it is not required to purchase anything from the shop unless you're missing some abilities or items from the previous mission.

General Notes

  • The fastest way to kill an Assault is to hit them from behind, as they receive 2x damage when attacking their back. Do Combo A, Stinger or Shotgun for maximum damage in this case.
  • The most efficient way to get rid of the Chimera on the Assault is to Shotgun them. The fastest way to Shotgun is to loop Jump → Shotgun.
  • The use of the Camera Trick will be useful here, so the Assaults come to you, and you don't get sniped by projectiles.
  • In Windswept Valley, you can Shotgun the first spawning Chimera Assault to position him for damage. The fastest way to deal damage is to DT Combo A or do a Drive setup. The DT Stinger is also great for hitting multiple Assaults to the ground at the same time.
  • In Ancient Plaza, you should NOT use any DT to get a consistent and fast cycle on the boss Echidna later. Safest way to kill an Assault is to do the Prop → Shredder combo to keep them stunned. A good tip to set up an Assault is to Stinger to set up the Assault and do a second Stinger where you close up the distance.
  • In Lost Woods, follow this path: Go forward, back, right and right.
  • Refer to a more detailed explanation of Echidna here. The way you set up Echidna is that you carefully time a E&I Charge Shot to stun Echidna briefly. This way, the boss should not fly away. Once up, pop DT, do 2 sets of Combo A and start doing 1 → 2 → Prop loop to keep Echidna from moving. Keep in mind this loop is not possible without DT. Once stunned, use a Small Devil Star and Combo A her until the health bar is below 3 bars and then use a Holy Water to end the fight. Learn the 1 Menu Cycle once you get comfortable dealing consistent damage.
