Argosax The Chaos

Argosax the Chaos is the final boss of Dante's Disc which is encountered in Mission 18.

  • This fight has two phases. They are both very situational.
  • Becomes The Despair Embodied in phase 2.
  • The player should make back-up save until they are comfortable with phase 1. Because, the resources won't reset after restarting the mission.

NG+ Note: Same strategy as New Game and it can maintain Majin for phase 2.

The sum of Argosax HP are split into 6 parts :

Strategy

This fight can play out differently depending on the route you take. With the new setup, it’s worth considering buying Smell of Fear. For setting up Majin HP safely, the triple horizontal laser is your best option.

Standard Cycle - The red HP setup can vary, but this is the safest approach: wait to start attacking until Nefasturris’s head is completely still, ensuring Whirlwind deals maximum damage.

Back up Cycle - If you don’t have the Gold Orb, here’s how to handle it starting from the Furiataurus section: stay in Majin form for as long as possible, ideally all the way to the end, and use Laevateinn when fighting Griffon.

Best Cycle - Current optimal order. The hardest part is having enough HP by the time you reach Orangguerra. Once you’ve set up red HP, that’s the point where you can use Smell of Fear. Only attempt a preemptive Majin transformation if you’re feeling confident about getting a favorable Despair pattern.

Round Trip Cycle - Requires either using a Gold Orb or restarting on death to begin with full DT, allowing you to dispatch Nefastarrius quickly. The strategy is straightforward overall—just be careful with how you manage Majin HP before the final Griffon kill.

The Despair Embodied

There is no one way to do this fight. You as a player must know when it's a good time to enter Shin Majin form. You also need to be familiar with Despair's pattern as in what to answer to each situation :

Energy Bullet Homing Laser Lightning Bolts Side Strafing
Slap Wave Teleport Slash Teleport Whip Walk
Wing Rotation
