After Mission 1, there 3 possible scenarios before the Reb Lv2 upgrade:

10,000+ - Very healthy route
5,000+ - Affordable route but, might require high ranks in later missions such as Mission 8
4,000- - Not a good scenario. You will have to forget about the Orb manip and focus on getting rank from Mission 7 Mission 8. Getting Rank from Mission 11 to Mission 13 can be a necessity.

You can get Rank at the end of this mission if you have Reb Lv2 and no damage or if you grab 2 hidden 1,000 at the Aerial Heart Chamber. This costs 10s but, very good if your current count is 4,000-

General Notes

Each man-face wall breaks in 6 hits so, do Lotus Slash combo with High Time cancel for the final hit.
Bait the flame bats, So you can earn some style point
Getting an optimal sphere on a Mancers wave is tough, sometimes Dante stays in the same spot, enabling you to spam the combo for faster activation.
You might earn free style point if you accidentally dodge their flamethrower attack
On the mandatory room fight Aerial Heart, Reb Lv2 has advantage of building faster style meter due to electro heart property of hitbox extension
