Nero Skills

This is a list related to the different techniques used for general Nero commands to understand Damage, Stylish points and properties. (1)

  • Exceed makes the attack animation faster. Also makes the Attack power and DT of Red Queen Combo A-D Aerial Combo and Roulette Spin by by x1.2
  • Exceed slot is locked to 1 compared to DMC4 until Exceed 2-3 bought in the shop.
  • Nero's DT enables Bringer Claw which helps increasing any of the Red Queen skill damage by x0.5 and x0.25 style point. It will not appear if Nero used the Devil Bringer ability with Bringer knuckle or Hold
  • Devil Breaker main command is O Holding that button will cause Break Age which charges an attack. This will grant more more powerful attack, but destroys the Devil Breaker after only one use.
  • There two DLC Breakers that shares the same moveset as the originals such as Monkey Business to Helter Skelter GP01 is the same as Gerbera but it has very minor difference when it comes to Jocky
  • Nero has the most expensive DT usage cost compared to the rest of the cast.

Double Down
  • The propellant ignited on the blade of the Red Queen by the Exceed system powers the weapon downwards, eviscerating a foe.

Snatch

  • Grab a Grim Grip to move long distances in a heartbeat.

Bringer Claw
  • This occurs when using any of the Red Queen moves during DT
  • Damage depends on the amount of time slashing with Red Queen
Buster
  • After grabbing an enemy with the Devil Bringer, bust them up with this damaging throw.
  • Throws Damage and Style Points vary according to the enemy.
  • Command:
Devil Buster
  • After grabbing an enemy with your demonic arm, perform a throw made even more devastating through the power of Devil Trigger.
  • Throws Damage and Style Points vary according to the enemy.
  • Command: While in DT
Hold
  • Position a captured enemy in front of you as a demon shield to ward off attacks.
  • Enemies who cannot be snatched up cannot be used as shields.
  • Command: Hold

Scapegoat
  • Attacks won't stagger you while using a Devil Breaker, or while preparing to use Break Age.
  • You still take some damage, and your current arm will be destroyed.

Battery
  • Fire an electric burst from the palm of the Overture.
  • The direction changes depending on the state of the enemy.
  • Can be used to counter certain attacks like Goliath's rush.
  • Command: O when equipped with Overture

Exploder
  • Overload the energy inside Overture to turn it into a bomb. Shove it into an enemy and it explodes after a set amount of time.
  • Multiple units can be placed at once. Follow up with a bullet or other attacks to detonate it manually.

Jocky
  • Release a shockwave from the palm of the Gerbera. This attack can negate or reflect enemy projectiles.
  • Pressing the Devil Breaker button will attack in front of you. Holding the will change the shockwave into thrust to move around.
  • GP01 will instead propel Nero into the air vertically if he is on the ground, or down to the ground if he is in the air. The ground move will pull lighter enemies up into the air.
  • Command: O when equipped with Gerbera/GP01

Stamen Ray / Petal Ray
  • Petal Ray Gather shockwaves in your fingertips for a more penetrating laser. Ricochets off of walls and floors around you. Break Age release O in mid-air when Gerbera sparks

  • Unleash the Punch Line's propulsion potential in a haymaker punch. Even larger enemies will be knocked back by a clean hit.
  • With Punch Line equipped: Press and hold O, then release after your right arm sparks with more power.
  • Performs uppercut on ground. Slam if mid-air.

  • Fire a sphere that slows anything within its area of influence, including enemies, their projectiles, and even you.

  • Enemies, fast-moving thorns, nothing escapes its influence.

Side Winder
  • Rawhide changes into countless blades that you can whip around you.
  • If the timings are right, it increases the number of attacks and strike more enemies.
  • With Rawhide equipped: Press O > O > O

Loop the Loop
  • Stretches Rawhide to its limits, pulling in enemies it connects with and slamming them into the ground.
  • Larger enemies experience a multi-step stab attack instead.

Neo/Super Buster
  • Reminiscent of the Devil Bringer's Buster attack. Packed with power.
  • Throws Damage and Style Points vary according to the enemy.
  • Neo Buster being attacked while executing the move will cause the Buster Arm to shatter.
  • Super Buster Attacks won't cause you to flinch while this is activated, making Busters easier to execute. Breaks after one use. Break Age release O on ground when Buster Arm sparks

  • Evade an enemy attack with a slight movement of the body, allowing for easier counter-attacks.
  • Command: Just before an attack hits, press + sideways on + X
MAX-Act
  • Right after an attack, quickly activate Exceed to max out your Exceed gauge.
  • MAX-Act appears to now be a six-frame window rather than being frame-perfect as before.
  • Command: Press just after an attack.
Rainbow
  • A running start ends with an incredibly sudden, devastating dropkick that rattles an enemy to its core.
  • After executing Speed press SELECT

Sweet Surrender
  • Has no offensive functions and can only deal damage with its Break Away
  • Brief Relief Massage function gradually refills your vitality. You can move around while it's on, but taking a hit will break it.
  • Sweet Release Restores vitality in an instant, but blowing the whole load at once destroys the arm.
Pasta Breaker
  • Combination of Punch Line's primary mode minus the ability to ride on it and Overture's Break Age
  • Pasta Jet While in flight, the remaining Devil breakers in your magazine change order, moving the next in line to the end of the magazine.
  • Pasta Mix The explosion itself is weak, but you can equip your next Devil Breaker and move around until detonation.
Mega Buster
  • While it is equipped, several animations change related to Nero's movement.
  • Mega Shot Rapid-fire energy bullets from the Mega Buster. You can even run and jump while shooting. A charge builds up in your right arm over time, and pressing O when it glows will fire a more powerful Mega Shot.
  • Mega Charge Shot Charge the Mega Buster to release a massive ball of destructive energy. This powerful, penetrating blast can engulf multiple foes, but it breaks the arm in the process.
