====== Free Style ====== [[dmc3:start|Devil May Cry 3]] **Free Style** is a speedrun category in which the player tries to complete the game as fast as possible on a fresh file. The player must start the game with Dante and choose freestyle mode instead of original before reaching the final hit against Vergil in Mission 20 as quickly as they can. Go to [[dmc3:start:#rules|this page]] to find the rules that apply to all Devil May Cry 3 speedruns.) * You must play as Dante and Select Free Style mode. * Timer stops on the final hit of Vergil in Mission 20. * The offical run time is counted as RTA. * Make sure to turn on Turbo Mode in the game's settings so it runs 20% faster. ===== Learning ===== This category has similar philosophy to [[dmc3:dante:ng|NG Dante]] to learn, however it's very different due to two big draw-backs. * SC and MS doesn't work well because of the way that Weapon Wheel works. * The experience points for Style level ups are not shared. This category optimization overall is still work in progress and current runners still have much to learn about it.
